Doug was born in Toronto, Ontario.  He attended school in Oxbow and Regina.  After High School he began working at Bremner's Funeral Chapel and took his apprenticeship with Helmsing-Bremner Funeral Chapel.  Upon graduation in 1971, he left Regina to work at Saskatoon Funeral Home.  Returning to Regina in 1973, he joined the staff  at Speers Funeral Chapel.  He has enjoyed working with the many families he has been associated with over the many years.  Doug has sat on many Boards.  He volunteers at Access Communication and is very active in the community.  Doug is a private pilot.
